Thanks for your reply. I moved up to the Woodpecker with a Kuzma 12vta as I mentioned towards the end of the article. It’s reviewed around here somewhere. I then stepped up to a Basis Audio Debut vacuum with Graham Phantom… that’s around here somewhere too. I attempted to procure an Origin Live Enterprise for the Basis deck but couldn’t resolve mounting details with Mark Baker’s son. There was a potential issue with clearance between the suspended part of the plinth and the lower plinth section.
I’ve just sold the Basis, and a VPI TNT with ET2, and I’m shopping around for a new table. I haven’t ruled out another deck from Dr. Feickert, nor from Origin Live.
Cheers

The Volare is basically an entry level Dr. Fieckert....you might (if you like the sound signature, design and features) move up the DF line (ie, Woodpecker, Blackbird, (Trio SE special production), and Firebird). Furthermore, the Origin Live Illustrious is only at the middle of the OL tonearm line-up. It's difficult to critique the "brand" when you've only touched on the more modest models within that brand.

Thanks for pointing out my factual inconsistencies. Yes, the plug-in location for the psu is awkward to access.
But it’s a great turntable and a breeze to live with on a daily basis. I hope you’re enjoying yours.

I just purchased a Dr. F Volare turntable with an Origin tonearm, then read your review of the turntable and noted several errors. First it is not just a 2 speed table. As your pictures show, it also plays 78. Second, the table does not have built in phono cables. In has no provisions for cables on its own. They have to be connected to whatever tonearm you use.

Lastly, you could have noted that it did not come with a proper manual - just one page of instructions with no illustrations, nor a list of parts should you need to order replacements in the future. Not what you would expect for something at this price point. Your review also failed to note the weird and very inconvenient location of the port for its power supply. It's not on the back of the table where it should be, but on the bottom. So you have to lift this heavy turntable with one had, while trying to locate the hole & plug the power cord with your other hand. It spiked feet are very sharp, so I ended up scratching a pristine wooden shelf trying to plug in the power (and I swore like a sailor).

No no RCA jacks for the phono cable manual, stupid location for the power cord, and a one page manual makes for a poor ownership experience.
