best sounding most capable speakers I’ve ever heard were the old original Ohm towers (& they were also the most easily detonated speakers i’ve ever owned;

i’m running Maggie’s with Macintosh preamps and Crown DC-300As bi-mode each side with powered subs..a compromise i’ve never been totally happy with;

always wondered if Klipschorns would do better with Trane and Billie, Nesta and Gershwin, Muscle Shoals and Ladysmith;

open to any narrative;

I have owned klipsch cornerhorns since 1977--during that time an array of highly rated speakers have passed through the house and have also been auditioned at audio shows over the years -my listening room is 20ftx12x10 with the speakers tightly sealed in the corners of the long wall-- i wouldn't swap them for the world,they portray a lifelike presentation and an energising of the room that cant be matched by any other speaker within a bulls roar of their retail cost.I would recommend all the haters to actually go and listen to them in a proper room setup before passing any judgement.

My Khorns sound even better with Audyssey. Probably would be better yet with Dirac or Trinnov.
I'd give them an A-.

My Khorns sound even better with Audyssey room correction.

I have a few CDs and one Blu-ray that sound harsh, and have attenuated bass. Boosting the bass from about 150 Hz down fixes that.

Overall, I'd give Klipschorns an A-, an A if one separately EQs troublesome disks, and uses Audyssey, Dirac, Trinnov or the like.

I have the Bells and like any speaker depending on the music you choose and system synergy the horns may or may not come alive for you. My Bells have a big soundstage and openness to it that regular speakers can't give. Oddly enough, pairing them with a lot of power such as my Marantz 2500 gives them a special quality. By the same token I've tried pairing them to my Sony STR 7045 and Realistic 2100 and neither sounded good on them. If that had been my impression of them when I first paired them I would have gotten rid of the Bells. As it was my first pairing was the of the Marantz 2500 and the Bells. A lucky shot.
Anyway, I listen to mostly jazz and the Bells shine on instruments. Hip hop, house and alternative is music dependent. But oh boy can they rock. Overall I'd give these speakers a solid B over the course of listening to them long term (5 years) from spinning records, Amazon prime music to CD's. Happy with them for sure.

Hey there, would it be possible to waterproof the Klipsch Klipschorn AK6 Loudspeakers? Do you think the sound quality would be poor if a hard protective shell was built for it?

The bigger the room the better but I have the accompanying paperwork that came with my 1983 Klipschorns and it states the listening distance should be .618 of the Distance between the speakers. So if your far wall with the speakers in the corner is 20 feet (240 inches) then your listening position should be 148 inches away (approx 12.4 feet in the center of course)
I posted this on the Klipsch bulletin board years ago, and the company asked me to send them a copy of it! I did and they sent me a t shirt and miscellaneous paraphernalia!

Dear CAH; I really recommend Luxman LX-380 - not too expensive (9000 Singapore dollars); I own one and most of the times listen to music through it, but you’d need a good sub, just to make sure… :-)
