I'm with you on the time element. I bought a VPI HW-17F 20 years ago in immaculate condition and have cleaned a few hundred records with it. I would preclean if any were really dirty, but that was rare. Recently added a Groovinator pre cleaning treatment/process before the VPI. That was nice, I could hear a difference.. But just too much time, and I have been wanting to switch to ultrasonic and start over, and the Audio Desk Systeme Glass finally reached an iteration with the Pro X that does everything reliably. Like the old infomercial with the rotisserie cooker it's "set it and forget it". Except that the rollers don't always engage (apparently the individual record's fault so no predicting...) and I need to wait 5 seconds and then nudge the record on occasion. Yes it is now $4600 which I would never pay, but found a 3 year old one used only to clean hundred records from a reputable source for $1835 delivered. Very happy, but I still like what the Groovinator does. So that would slow down the process but I have some time now. Fremer bought the review sample on a earlier model so that's good enough for me. I plan to get a good chunk of the $ back selling the VPI.
