Thanks for your initial impressions. I recently moved from a Clearaudio Emotion CMB to a Basis Debut with vacuum and the Graham 2.0 arm. As fine as the Clearaudio was, the Debut was a huge upgrade. My initial impressions were similar to yours. I was first struck by how much more solid everything sounded, particularly percussion. I also noticed the table was so much quieter. The noise floor dropped significantly. My wife noticed the same thing. At times the Debut is almost eerily quiet. With that quieter background came noticeably deeper but tight bass, and more mid-range and high-end detail. While I play all types of music on the table and it plays all genres incredibly well, I find the biggest differentiator is classical music. It conveys solo violin or flute with a great sense of delicacy, while also conveying the full brunt and force of an entire orchestra with remarkable clarity. There are newer and more expensive tables out there, but I’d be hard pressed to upgrade given how good this table is.

In reply to <a href="https://www.audioresurgence.com/2022/05/basis-audio-debut-gold-standard-turntable-review.html#comment-29325">ChrisK</a>.

I like the Graham 2.2 a lot. I'm sure there are better sounding arms around, but I really like this from a practical standpoint, and at my age, that matters. Being able to remove the armwand, then having a simple jig to install and align the cartridge, is a revelation for me. Finally I can switch out a cartridge in 10 minutes and not be wondering if I got the alignment and overhang just right. I'm happy with it for now. Though I did just buy an Eminent Tech ET2 air tangent, so who knows... ;)

How are you finding the 2.2 after living with it for a while? Any plans to move up on the arm? I’ve a phantom V if you’re interested.
