NHT 2.9 / 1.5 Surround Speaker System [SOLD]

OK, let me be clear – this speaker system is in less than stellar physical condition, and is thus rated at a fair 4/10, graded low for physical condition only.

The star of the show here is the NHT 2.9, a full-range speaker with side-firing bass drivers to deliver bass easily into the low 30’s. The speakers sound excellent, they’re relatively easy to place and easy to drive. They’ll work pretty close to the front wall, but sound better to my ears pulled a little further into the room, around 36″ seems to work well.

They sound, full, dynamic and have an effortless presentation that’s just a little on the smooth side of neutral.

I’m pricing these to refect their poor physical condition and will not split the package, nor will I ship. One set of the surround monitors has wall brackets which can be removed.

These have the premium off-white laminate, which as you can see is chipped here and there. They could be fully restored, or if you’re a man-cave dweller who doesn’t mind so much about aesthetics, then you can own a speaker that’s hard to beat sonically at this price point. If you don’t do surround sound, then the 1.5’s are great little stand-mounts and work well as 2-channel mains.
