The speakers are in 7/10 condition, perhaps closer to an 8. They look minty from the listening seat with a few minor blemishes here and there when you get up close to inspect.

I do have the grills for the speakers and they’re also in fine shape, though not shown in the photographs here.

These speakers sound fantastic on all types of music, the stand-out is the AMT HF/Mid driver which is beautifully extended and sweet as a pea. Unfortunately, being an expensive speaker system when new ($35K), there aren’t very many reviews or comments floating around the web on the C40. Perhaps more unfortunate (for a prospective owner who hasn’t heard them), there are a couple of comments from one deranged individual on Audiogon describing the C40 as ‘the worst speakers he’s heard’, or words to that effect. He states they’re ‘bright sounding’. They’re anything but bright. If you find that thread, be sure to read the whole thing as the guy gets exposed later in the thread as being a bit of a charlatan. It seems he heard these without them having been broken in. Later in the same thread he’s called out for having raved about the same speaker in a different post! The web is full of idiots.
